Recreation Director Position


Fire Hydrant Installation Tender

The Rural Municipality of Whitemouth requires the installation of a fire hydrant at the corner of PR 408 and PR 307.

The successful bidder will be required to install a water line from the main line to approved site.

The bidder shall:

1.    Follow due diligence in locating the main water line and will obtain a drawing for the proposed path from the Municipality.

2.       Secure approval of all utility locates such as but not limited to fiber Optic, BellMTS & Manitoba Hydro.

3.       Provide an accurate GPS as built map of the final work which includes landmarks, indicates the measurement and piping placement at the satellite image of the area.

4.    Provide track record of previous water installation projects. 

5.    Have at least one Level 1 Water Distribution licensed individual on site

6.    Supply pipe, and fittings as specified by the Municipality.

7.    Include all costs including moving of equipment to the site, supply of any fill required to cover pipe and restore the excavated spot to its original state or better.

8.       Be responsible for the settling after 1 year of completion of works.

9.    Be subject to the Municipality’s trench cage policy.

10.    Have connection work inspected by Municipal staff prior to covering.

11.    Provide proof of 2 Million Dollar Liability Insurance and current  Workers’ Compensation Board coverage.

12.      Be responsible for any damages that incur during the construction/installation of the fire hydrant.

The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and to award the project in the best interest of the Municipality in its sole discretion.
