Safe at Home MB Grant
With thanks to the Safe at Home MB grant, we are pleased to announce we will be offering FREE Virtual Programming! Registration is required for all programs. All programs are listed below. Participants that register for programming will also receive all required materials in order to participate. Please read all instructions on the registration form regarding material pick-up and drop-offs. Instructor lead classes are completed on Zoom. While we wish we could offer free programming to everyone, please understand that spaces in all programs are limited and that registration is accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Zumba Gold Mondays 6:30 pm l Fridays 10:00 am l February 8-April 2, 2021
Zumba Gold is for anyone looking for a modified low impact Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. If you are new to physical activity or coming back from illness or injury, this is the perfect place to start. This class is also great for older adults. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.
Family Boredom Buster Kits - NO KITS LEFT
With funds from the Manitoba Safe at Home program, the RM of Lac du Bonnet & Whitemouth River Recreation Commission will be offering FREE Family Boredom Buster Kits! What's a Boredom Buster Kit? Each kit will include various activities along with the instructions and supplies to complete them. A perfect way to bust your winter boredom! All kits are designed to be enjoyed by the whole household. There will be a limited number of kits available, and registration will be required to secure a kit. Following registration, you can pick up your kits at the following times:

Virtual Wacky Sled Race Contest
π±πππ πππ πΎπππππππππ πΉππππ πΉπππππππππ πͺπππππππππ πππ π πππππππ πππππ ππππ ππππ πππππππ!
Here's how it work!
1) Individuals or families are encouraged to make a wacky sled at home over the February long weekend using cardboard, tape, paper, glue, and paint. No other materials allowed.
2) Film a video of you or your family racing your wacky sled down a snow hill.
3) Submit your video to recreationdirector@whitemouthriverrec.com along with your name and mailing address by February 15, 2021. We will post your video to our Whacky Sled Race Facebook Event page (here under the discussion section).
4) Encourage family & friends to like your sled video on our Facebook Event. The video with the most likes by February Feb. 22, 2021 at 9:00 am will win a $100 Home Hardware Gift Card.
Contest open to RM of Whitemouth residents only (Elma, River Hills, Seven Sisters Falls, Whitemouth).
Participation as at your own risk. Please use caution and safety when tobogganing.
Disney Trivia Night Friday, February 12, 2021 l 7:00 pm
Are you the family tour guide when you go to a Disney theme park? Do you have an unhealthy attachment to the Happiest Place on Earth? Do you know all the songs from The Lion King? If so, relive the magic and prepare yourself for a night of Disney Trivia as we take you down memory lane!
Join us for a fun night of Disney trivia! We will guide you through Disney trivia and games related to movies, music, characters, history and more. Plus, we've got some great prizes! Start refreshing your Disney knowledge and get prepared for this family fun event! Trivia night will take place online with Zoom. Households will need a device for viewing (computer) and one device for answering questions (mobile device). Zoom link will be sent via email to those that register.
Toddler Shenanigans Wednesdays February 10-March 31, 2021 l 11:00 am
This program provides little ones with the opportunity to explore and experience the world through messy play. It is also a great opportunity for caregivers to spend quality time with their children. Each week, we will prepare and deliver an activity kit to your home that will include supplies and materials for enjoying our weekly theme. You can tune in live on the RM of Lac du Bonnet's Facebook to do the activity with our facilitator or watch the video later when time allows. Activities are best enjoyed by ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Tune in LIVE to the RM of Lac du Bonnet's Facebook page weekly as our facilitator guides you through the weekly theme and activity.
Raised Beading Workshop February 17, 2021 l 7:00-9:00 pm
Add some height to your bead embroidery with these playful bead techniques. Throughout this online class you will be lead through several raised beading techniques. It is recommended you take this class if you also plan to take the Moccasin Course. Participants will receive all required class materials.

4-Week DIY Moccasin Course March 10-31, 2021 l 6:30-9:00 pm
Join Amber from Amber's Leather Creations and create your own pair of custom moccasins. Learn how to size, design, and hand sew your project. Participants will get the option to choose their preference of premium materials during registration. We recommend you complete the Raised Beading Workshop if you want to learn how to add beading to your moccasins.

Soapstone Carving February 24, 2021 l 7:00-9:00 pm
Have fun with soapstone carving. Instructor Amber will walk you through how to create your own beautiful soapstone. All participants will receive a soapstone kit, with all materials needed to participate. Check out the various carving options on our website/Facebook and choose your preference during registration.

Beginner Woodcarving Workshops
Join experienced hand and chainsaw carver Russ Kubara as he leads you through the introductory basics of woodcarving. Participants will receive a woodcarving kit with class materials. Visit our Facebook event and website to view project options.
