Message from our Municipal Emergency Coordinator

Conditions with air quality is very poor right now, here is a few guidelines for our residents to help protect yourselves from the smoky conditions
Reducing exposure to wildfire smoke is important for everyone's health - especially children, older adults and those with heart or lung disease.
1. Shelter in Place. Stay indoors with doors and windows closed. It is not advised to run an air conditioner unless it has a high efficiency filter.
2. Choose a room with no fireplace and as few windows/doors as possible.
3. If you have an air purifier have it running in the room everyone is staying in.
4. Do not allow the children to play outdoors.
5. If breathing is difficult, seek shelter elsewhere such as with a friend or relative that is not hampered with the smoky conditions.
6. If older adults or children are having great difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.

** Please remember your pets suffer with the smoky conditions as well. Keep them in the house with you if possible.
